Sabah’s vanishing lowland jungles

Phil Lewis and I headed east into Lahad Datu to check out the forest there after a tip off from some fellow zoologists. We flew in at a day’s notice, so the flights were expensive. Read the Danum Valley article.

The rest of it was filmed outside the Danum around nearby Lahad Datu.

Possibly never filmed before, certainly rarely photographed is the species of Kalophrynus heterochirus sticky frog (the one that prefers to take a leisurely stroll rather than hop)
